Helping Growing Youth Grow enables volunteers to cultivate children’s interest in nature’s diversity by involving them in various horticultural activities.
Grade 3 Program
Grade 3 students in Petawawa have an opportunity to grow their knowledge of gardening, and participate in the planting of trees, gardens, and seed starting. This 6-week program starts in early April, and concludes just before Mother’s Day each year.

3 | Dish gardens with succulents & cacti are planted by the students |
4 | Students make “seed tapes” and are given seeds for a home garden. |

6 | Just before Mother’s Day, center pieces are crafted. with real flowers |
