Akos Asare turned her yard into a nature haven, flower garden and floral business. Years of knowledge gathering and hard work have lead to a successful business and a happy life. This night, learn about one of the aspects she employs in her world: What can you do with Weeds in your backyard and are they edible?
April Meeting – Rob Johnson (The Green Legacy)
In honour of Arbour Week beginning April 25th, the PHS has invited Rob Johnson of The Green Legacy program to speak with us via ZOOM about the program and hopefully we will be inspired enough to support Canadensis in their efforts to expand it into the Ottawa Valley.
The Green Legacy is a tree planting program that started in 2004 to celebrate Wellington County’s 150-year anniversary. It has since grown to be the largest municipal tree planting program in North America, with over three million trees planted by community partners.
“The mission of The Green Legacy program is to strengthen the community’s view towards the value of trees and the environment, creating a green infrastructure to ensure ongoing environmental benefits and help the County adapt to climate change. “
